ABSTRACT. Germatranes and azagermatranes are of great interest from the theoretical point of view as neutral pentacoordinated metal species where the nature of the GeN bond is object of interest. The substitutions on the germatrane moiety can influence on their molecular geometry and reactivity. In continuation of our study on functionally substituted germatranes we would like to present here the work devoted to the preparation of 1-organo-3,7,10-trimethylgermatranes and 1-allyl-N,N',N''-substituted azagermatranes. The reaction of trialkylstannyl esters of tris(2-hydroxypropyl)amine with organotrihalogenogermanes gives corresponding germatranes in good to excellent yields as the mixtures of stereoisomers.
