ABSTRACT. The first transition metal complex (6) with C5(CH3)4CH2CH2PPh2 ligand was prepared via novel 4,5,6,7-tetramethylspiro[2,4]hepta-4,6-diene (3), LiC5(CH3)4CH2CH2PPh2 (4) and silylated cyclopentadiene (5) starting from the well known (2-N,N-dimethylaminoethyl)tetramethylcyclopentadiene (1). Compounds (2-6) were isolated as pure substances and characterised by NMR 1H, 13C and 31P spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Crystal structure of (h5,h1-C5(CH3)4CH2CH2PPh2)ZrCl3·THF (6) was established by X-ray diffraction analysis. In THF-d8 solution, complex (6) exhibits dynamic behaviour due to the intramolecular PPh2-group dissociation ы coordination process.
