Optoacoustic detection of the carbon critical point

ABSTRACT. New optoacoustic technique for detection of laser-induced critical state of matter is proposed for applying to non-transparent refractory materials. The basic principle of critical state detection is connected with evaluating of recoil and thermoacoustic pressure amplitude ratio which equals one during transition from evaporation to hydrodynamic expansion of the substance at critical point of phase diagram.
